Ambitious plans revealed for £2bn Edinburgh West Town neighbourhood
December 2 2021
The city of Edinburgh is in line for a new neighbourhood of 7,000 homes and associated commercial and community facilities, to be built from scratch on a 200-acre site between Ingliston Park & Ride and the Gogar Roundabout.
West Town is the brainchild of New Ingliston (now rebranded West Town Edinburgh) and investment partner Drum Property Group, who propose a £2bn urban expansion of the city.
A master plan for the area by 7N Architects builds on the Edinburgh City Plan 2030 prioritises active travel and public transport, delivering infrastructure that ensures key amenities are always just a short walk away.
Graeme Bone, group managing director of Drum commented: "The amount of space on the site combined with its superb location allows for a natural extension for the west of Edinburgh, providing a new ‘20-minute neighbourhood’. As well as the close proximity to the airport, the site has direct access to some of the best public transport in Scotland. The tram line travels directly through the site and there are integrated rail, cycle and road connections creating a strategic gateway to the city."
West Town is the latest iteration of the Edinburgh International Business Gateway.

As you may see, the airport is to be surgically removed and replaced with green fields, so your fears of 24-hour airport noise are completely unfounded.
Airport? What airport? No idea what you're talking about - nothing to see here.
Is there a housing association out that way, get them involved if so. If not then create one. They arent "QANGO's" or whatever; they provide help for people in all sorts of situations of need.
